IPC-A-610 summarizes the acceptance criteria for electronic components and specifies the acceptable quality standards for electronic products. IPC-A-610 categorizes the acceptability standards for IPC products into three main types: Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3.

We usually inspect our PCB components according to IPC-A-610 levels 2 and 3. Please refer to the following image to understand the items we are inspecting.

The lateral offset (A) is less than or equal to 50% of the solderable end width (W) of the component or 50% of the pad width (P), whichever is smaller.

The lateral offset (A) is greater than 50% of the solderable end width (W) of the component or 50% of the pad width (P), determined by the smaller width.

Ending offset is not allowed.

Unacceptable: The lateral offset exceeds 50% of the side with the smaller width. The weldable end of the cylinder exceeds the width of the component diameter or 25% of the width of the solder pad.

Unacceptable: The lateral offset exceeds 50% of the smaller width.

Unacceptable: The offset of the solderable end exceeds the range of the solder pad.
